Attend Saba Verda from
Early Years to
Secondary School

From Early Years to Secondary School, our school employs enquiry-based learning, which means that the activities we plan relate to topics in which students have expressed interest.

We also place a strong emphasis on active learning, wherein students try to solve problems themselves and the teacher helps them along the way.

Our study programmes

Age: 3-5 years

Early
years

The Saba Verda curriculum for this stage of children's education is based on the British National Curriculum and covers seven areas of learning: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Social Development, Emotional and Personal Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Art and Expression. In these areas, students work through activities planned around their interests. As each child is unique, we take into account their individual rhythms and strive to ensure that they develop a positive relationship with their learning.

Age: 6-11 years

Primary
school

The primary curriculum at Saba Verda is based on the British National Curriculum for Primary Education, and we have supplemented this with our own curriculum including the Catalan and Spanish languages and their history, geography and culture. The language of instruction is English.

Age: 12 - 16 years

Secondary
shool

The Secondary School programme has been a part of Saba Verda since 2020 and takes students from Year 7 to 11. The emphasis of the Secondary School curriculum is on introducing pupils to a wide range of subjects as well as giving them knowledge and skills in English and at least two other languages. At this stage of a young person's development, we provide a broad developmental course of personal, social and emotional education covering all the key issues of adolescence.

Accreditation

Our school is accredited by both NABSS

(the National Association of British Schools in Spain) and Ensenyament, allowing us to offer both accreditation

Admission process

After the application form

is filled in, we invite prospective families to the school and meet every potential student. It is important to us that we get to know all prospective students in depth as individuals.

We will also ask for the student’s most recent report card if they are transferring from another school.
